-Rhys orignally proposed to Gwen at the end this episode but was changed by Russel T Davies who thought it would be ''more poignant'' if it happened of screen,while Jack was away.
-Jack and Owen were going to ride a scooter to the rooftop at the end of the episode, but would have needed crash helmets.
-The opening sequence with the blowfish was written by Russel T Davis, who then told Chris Chinball to write an episode following on from it!

-When John abandons Gwen at the docks, the wide shot of the cargo echoes the closing shot of Raiders Of The Lost Ark.
-The Diamond Captain John is seeking comes from Arcadia,mentioned in 2006 Doctor Who episode Doomsday.

-one early idea for the episode featured a character who didn't know hse was an alien coming to the attention of Torchwood through her clairvoyant abilities.

-Ianto had fewer lines in the original script, but writer James Moran was impressed by Gareth David Lloyd's comic timing that he quickly added more dialogue for him.
